EPF notifies interest rate for FY 2021-22

EPFO Department has notified the Rate of Interest for the Financial Year 2021-22 at 8.1% (8.5% for last FY)

With the notification of rates the EPFO department shall now start crediting the PF accounts with the interest for the period 2021-22.

AAGC View: Even with the reduced rate of interest EPF should be one of the most preferred form of investments it is tax free on all 3 counts i.e. at the time of investing, annual interest credit and at the time of withdrawal.

Icing on the cake: EPF return is still higher by 2% when compared with comparatively risk free rate on FD's i.e. 5-6%
